There is absolutely nothing like a brand new baby. Shea definitely did not disappoint. He is cute and he loves to snuggle. Brian and Meredith have fallen perfectly into place in their roles as parents. It was as if Shea had always been a part of their life, as if there had never been a just them. It was wonderful to see this amazing interaction between you three. Thank you so incredibly much for inviting me to spend some time with you guys. Hope to see you again, Shea, very very soon! xo

What Shea’s mommy had to say about him:
I love that he made his arrival just in time. After preterm labor starting at 34 weeks…6 weeks early…and being told for 3 weeks that he’d come any day I was very ready for the waiting and bedrest and false alarms to be over. And for his dad’s sake…who is very much about details and sticking with the norm…he waited until the day he was considered full term at 37 weeks. Still three weeks early but healthy as can be.
I love that his last meal before his grand entrance was my favorite…Mexican!
I love watching him during the short spans of time that he spends awake as he quietly takes in the world around him.
I love that this whole journey and our new little boy help me understand more clearly what God meant when he said we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
As a family of 3:
I love that no one can agree whether he looks like me or his dad or neither.
I love watching his dad fall more and more in love with him every day. It’s funny to watch him take his eyes off the game and just look at him. That says a lot. :)
I love afternoon naps as a family when Brian gets home from work.
I love trying to master the art of walks in the neighborhood and the walking bridge downtown with Shea and our 2 dogs.
And I love talking about what he might be like as he grows up saying things like “that’s where he will hit his first home run…Laura will be his kindergarten teacher…Aimes will be his best friend…he’ll love country music and drive a truck because he lives in Soddy Daisy and that’s what everyone else does.”
