So last year, I photographed Lee’s surprise 60th birthday party. This year the surprise party for Lee’s wife, Marcia for her same milestone birthday. I am floored that Marcia just turned 60. She does not look it one bit! Marcia is so very gorgeous and not only has a beautiful exterior, but is equally beautiful on the inside. Her family and closest friend’s gathered around and showered her with love for a fun filled surprise party. Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part celebration! It is so awesome to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people!!! Happy Birthday Marcia!!!

adelaide . 1st birthday party {chattanooga family photography}

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to do some details shots of a 1st birthday party. Christy Huie and her sister Cherish Hamill worked their little tails off with the details of sweet Adelaide’s (Christy’s niece/Cherish’s daughter) vintage themed 1st birthday party. From the vintage highchair to the fabric wrapped hula hoops, no details were overlooked. I arrived before the guests and left before they arrived. I am sure those in attendance had so much fun! How could they not?!?

This is by far not the first party Christy has ever planned, but this is one of the first under her new business name Posh Parties. Hope you enjoy all her details and be sure to let her know if you need help planning your next celebration!

I am a sucker for a mason jar and old windows too!

I love how the old windows made the porch space feel cozy with a fabulous splash of color. The handcrafted flag banner was a perfect touch!

These fabric wrapped hula hoops made the modern day version fit perfect with the theme.

Moncrief Photography Portfolio Website {a thank you}

We are so super duper stoked about our portfolio website we launched just last week. We have received some of the most amazing feedback about it! Thank you guys so incredibly much!!! It has been over a year in the making and we are so very pleased with the final out come.

The most common feedback we have been hearing is that it is our personality directly in your browser. That is EXACTLY what we wanted. . .for people to be able to get to know us through our website. Likewise, we can’t wait to get to know each and everyone of you. So be sure to say hello!!!

Thank you so much to Strat Parrot with Juncture for the design on the site. He took our ideas and morphed them into something better than we imagined. Thank you thank you thank you so very much!

Another huge thanks goes to our dear friends, Robert & Aston, with Limestone Films! We can not believe you made us look this good! :) Thank you for the very-fun-emotion-evoking promo video you did for us. Seriously, several of our friends said it caused them to tear up, just getting caught up in the emotion of it all. Thank you so much for working with us on this! You guys are truly amazing and gifted videographers! Go check out their wedding cinematography! It will make you want to get remarried if you already are and make you want to ensure they are available on your wedding date if you aren’t married just yet. We also want to thank you guys for your awesome friendship. We are addicted to the Miles fam!

I would be remiss if I did not also give a big shout out thanks to Jill Zaleski who did the hair makeup and styling on the promo video’s carnival scene. She can work some major magic with some hair and makeup. You must check out her custom jewelry. Unique…that is an understatement! She has everyday jewelry to bridal collections.

Lastly, a huge thanks to Justin & Shannon Robbins for helping us out as non-model-models for the carnival scene. We wanted to show you what a REAL live engagement session with us looks like! Yes…that is right…these two make a real life couple who seriously have never modeled before. They are just THAT awesome! Thank you guys a TON! You two are gorgeous. that. is. for. sure.

tripp + tucker . birthday boys {chattanooga family photography}

Our kiddos have known each other since they were mere weeks old and now Tucker is 3 and Tripp is 1. It was such an honor to document their very first joint birthday party together. You guys are so very dear to us!!!

Tucker and Tripp were spared no detail in the design of their choo choo train birthday party, by their mom who loves to party plan! The light blue, dark blue and red colors were so eye catching and fun for the kids. I loved all the coordinating train paraphernalia that were custom made with each boys name and their new age of one year old and 3 years old. If that were not enough there was a candy buffet, LIVE blue grass band {New Binkley Brothers} and a train that ever kid (young and old) thoroughly enjoyed. Each kiddo also went home with a train whistle of thanks from the boys.

parker . 1st birthday party {chattanooga event photographer}

In Parker’s one year old photo session post I talked about how big he has gotten and his adorable personality. This time I need to brag on his mom. She needs to be a party planner. She threw Parker’s food spread together the day of. See this was one of two birthday parties for Parker. This being the “smaller” family version it was going to simply be cake. I am floored with the full buffet Anna came up with. Of course, her awesome husband did the grocery run so they are definitely a good party planning pair. Beyond food, the details were precious. The sock monkey theme was spawned by the photos that have been taken of Parker since birth with his over sized sock monkey pal. These pics shot for scale have quickly turned from the sock monkey being the larger of the pair to Parker being the larger of the two. With this pal along side Parker from the very beginning it only made since for him to escort him to his first birthday party. Sock monkeys were everywhere. From invitation to cake to party favors and tobagon it was a full fledged sock monkey party and a fabulous one at that. Laughter continously filled the air of Parker’s party coming from all of those who love Parker the very most. The atmosphere turned emotional as each attendee watched a slideshow rerun of Parker’s first year. Thank you for inviting me to your birthday party Parker! I had a fabulous time!

I am in love with surprises! I love being surprised myself (good surprises only, of course :) and I love being in on a surprise for another. I was so happy to be invited to capture such a fun and exciting event with Lee’s surprise party. The following include a couple shots of the actual surprise and just a few pics of just a few of the beautiful children that were celebrating at this birthday party. All the children and people in general were absolutely amazing and so incredibly warm and inviting. You met Denise here. As a reminder, she is the owner of The Concierge Level, Chattanooga’s premier business center, and is also the founder of Chattanooga’s version of the national networking event, Jelly! This monthly event brings together an eclectic group of people for a great bout of social networking! This girl impressed me from the moment I met her. I knew her work from the web and fell in love with it immediately. Her handcrafted jewelry is very intricately designed. Quality . Stylish . Modern . Fun are all understatements. Knowing I loved her work I had no doubt that she would be a fabulous person herself. Dawn and her family are new to Chattanooga as of the end of last summer, with her husband’s job transfer. Dawn did not let being a newbie stop her from getting to know our city and its people. Dawn is outgoing, witty and extremely lovable. She knows half my friends already and I did not even introduce them:) She is a great social networker and has really impressed me from our first introduction. I am happy to not only know her, but also call her friend. I have even been getting some parenting pointers from her since any parent would be impressed with kids that are doing things such as this and this.

ty . 2 years old {birthday party}

Whoever said little boy’s birthday parties can’t be cute, did not attend Ty’s 2nd birthday. Wow, this is the cutest boy’s birthday party idea I have ever seen. Ty’s mom spared no detail in this adorable theme for her little bug. My favorite by far was the fabulous party favors complete with a personal shovel and the most delectable dirt I have ever devoured. Perfectly coordinated birthday invitations were designed by Ty’s Aunt, the owner of Shortcake Stationery. Not only was Ty’s part overrun with creative cuteness, it was so much fun. This little guy is so loved and had many guests who came to celebrate with him to prove it! The following is a small taste of the fun faces that came to his party.
