I love custom. I love one of a kind. How special do you feel when you have the only one of something in the world? Jill Zaleski and her one of a kind jewelry will more than make you feel special. You will also look spectacular in her amazing pieces. A simple outfit can turn into something head turning with this eye candy. I love each and every piece and I had the most amazing time with this shoot which is my fourth collaboration with Jill. I can not wait for the next!

The gorgeous blonde bombshell who modeled for us is Katelyn Rose. She is also the muse for this collection hence the name of this collection being just that, “Katelyn Rose”. The other hottie is Jill herself. Yep, she can design AND she can model. You girls are amazing!!

granny campbell, you will be missed! {personal}

Today she died. My last and most favorite grandparent is gone. Though she was in the hospital this week after an unsuccessful surgery on her leg and I saw her last night and she had yet to “come back” from being put to sleep, I still remained hopeful. Granny was a woman of 9 lives. Last night she looked like death was at her doorstep, just like I had seen before in recent years, but every other time she bounced back. I always imagined granny living forever. Literally. She was going to live well into her 100′s and be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the oldest woman to ever live, but this week death came and did not leave. He took my Granny. I will not hold onto the image of the lifeless soul I encountered last night. I will instead ingrain the following memories in my mind forever. I am so thankful for the images below taken in the last 6 months. These are the very last images ever taken of Granny and I am so very thankful for these:

I am absolutely in love with these images Jimmy took of Granny and Ada last fall. She loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren even more if that were even possible. I can hear her say now, “My, how she has growed”. Using the same incorrect grammar that I will probably use one day. . .

None of these are award winning images. Everest was very grumpy in these moments, but I don’t care because they are absolutely priceless. The very last images of her life ever recorded.

Last night at the hospital Ada asked to give Granny one last kiss. Ada leaned over to Granny’s lifeless but still breathing body and gave her the most gentle sweet kiss on her Great-Granny’s wrinkly forehead and softly whispered in her ear, “I love you, Granny.” It is unlikely that Granny was able to hear, but I would like to think the quick squeeze of her closed eyes was acknowledgement that she did. We love you Granny Campbell and will miss you so very much!

Moncrief Photography Portfolio Website {a thank you}

We are so super duper stoked about our portfolio website we launched just last week. We have received some of the most amazing feedback about it! Thank you guys so incredibly much!!! It has been over a year in the making and we are so very pleased with the final out come.

The most common feedback we have been hearing is that it is our personality directly in your browser. That is EXACTLY what we wanted. . .for people to be able to get to know us through our website. Likewise, we can’t wait to get to know each and everyone of you. So be sure to say hello!!!

Thank you so much to Strat Parrot with Juncture for the design on the site. He took our ideas and morphed them into something better than we imagined. Thank you thank you thank you so very much!

Another huge thanks goes to our dear friends, Robert & Aston, with Limestone Films! We can not believe you made us look this good! :) Thank you for the very-fun-emotion-evoking promo video you did for us. Seriously, several of our friends said it caused them to tear up, just getting caught up in the emotion of it all. Thank you so much for working with us on this! You guys are truly amazing and gifted videographers! Go check out their wedding cinematography! It will make you want to get remarried if you already are and make you want to ensure they are available on your wedding date if you aren’t married just yet. We also want to thank you guys for your awesome friendship. We are addicted to the Miles fam!

I would be remiss if I did not also give a big shout out thanks to Jill Zaleski who did the hair makeup and styling on the promo video’s carnival scene. She can work some major magic with some hair and makeup. You must check out her custom jewelry. Unique…that is an understatement! She has everyday jewelry to bridal collections.

Lastly, a huge thanks to Justin & Shannon Robbins for helping us out as non-model-models for the carnival scene. We wanted to show you what a REAL live engagement session with us looks like! Yes…that is right…these two make a real life couple who seriously have never modeled before. They are just THAT awesome! Thank you guys a TON! You two are gorgeous. that. is. for. sure.

For Japan With Love

My heart and prayers go out to the people of Japan.
I can’t even fathom what it is like to witness the hurt and devastation first hand.

Though there are days my blog sits silent, tomorrow it will with a purpose.
It will be sitting silent in hopes to raise awareness and aid for our friends on the other side of the globe.
This event named For Japan with Love was organized by Utterly Engaged and Ever Ours with all donations going to Shelter Box who will provide emergency shelter and supplies to the people of Japan.

a little bit of nothing

My pink floral pajama pants still on, Ada’s hair un-brushed and no shoes on we headed out to add some spice to this over cast day. Fall is in the air though my weather channel app tries to tell me otherwise as at it blares back that it is in fact 84 degrees. Well, Mr. Weather Channel app, compared to recent temps 84 degrees kinda feels like fall…just cool enough to head out and snatch up my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. This is hands down my favorite fall beverage and even though I am not suppose to be drinking caffeine at the moment, a little splurge every once in a while never hurt anyone.

And yep, I am a no whip kinda girl. . .

Btw, did you know that Starbuck’s gives out doggie treats? Another doggie friendly eatery is Bruster’s where your favorite pampered pooch can enjoy a creamy cup of vanilla ice cream complete with dog bone atop. All free. Anyone else know of some free finds for our furry friends?

Hubs is biking from savannah Georgia to San diego California. Ada and I have been out here for a little over a week now. We reached Arizona today, but are camping in New Mexico. Will be back soon and thank you all for your incredible patience!!!!!! Hugs!

ashleigh + laurie {anytime}

In lieu of lunch, like good little girls, we overindulged on cupcakes…the mini kind…so we could have three…each! It was a fabulous continuation of our already fabulous day. A day beginning with a mini road trip from Irvine to Culver City (suburb of LA). A road trip filled with conversation and laughter. Next up was professional makeup that would make us look more fabulous (them, even more fabulous :) than real life normally portrayed. After documenting our made up selves a fabulous dinner at an undiscovered Korean joint, Tofu Ya

The delicious bake shop where in delicious bite sized cupcakes. Any bachelor fans out there may recognize the exterior of this cute little shop as the cake venue of choice for Jason & Molly’s wedding. Yes, The Bachelor is a guilty pleasure of mine. The relationship between myself and the show can be most accurately described as a love-hate relationship.

The local of our little trio, Ashleigh, played the perfect part of tour guide and had the perfect eateries mapped out to ensure out little bellies never went hungry. Not only were you a fabulous tour guide, but you are so much fun and absolutely beautiful!

This is Laurie, like Ashleigh she is flirty fun and gorgeous to boot! I love to capturing people laughing and having fun and it was definitely easy with these two as you can see I tried to make it the focus of this post.

So we got a little serious, but not too much and not for too long.

After our visit to the Viceroy Hotel (really just the chair within the hotel :) we headed across the street to get a bit closer to Santa Monica beach and follow the soon-setting-sun.

Also, in attendance for a brief few, was Anna Kim. Wish you could have stayed longer! Thank you each, for being your beautiful inside-and-out selves. I am so blessed to have meet you! Much love to you!
