Yada Yada! I’m on week 2 of my son’s life. He is now 9 weeks as of today. . .oh my! I am trying not to make myself feel bad about this. I am instead justifying this family blog absence by spending aforementioned blog time with my family :) I did however, successfully blog Ada’s first year of life and wanted to do the same for Everest, but really. . .its okay. So here’s week 2. We will see if any additional family posts make it on the blog :)

The little dude was still in the bassinet at this point. In his swaddle. . .not so much! {I am seriously so in love with that little round head. One point for the c-section babe}

Yes, the snuggle overload continued and is still continuing. The girl is going to snuggle her little bro to pieces :)

So during those first few weeks I made a daily point to spend some me and Ada only time doing something of her choosing. This day in particular was salon day. This girl loves to have her nails done.

What Everest did while we hit the nail salon.

Ada could not stay away from her little bro for long. As soon as her nails were half way dry, she ran over to check on the handsome sleeper :)

She seriously melts my heart with her love for her younger sibling. Let me reassure you that NONE of this snuggling was requested for picture sake. This is au naturale!!!

Ada and Everest have both worn Ivey Handcrafted since the very day each of them were born. I had fun taking pics of them in their coordinating Ivey Handcrafted duds. I love these custom shirts and I love their creator, Tobi! You are so special to us, Tobi! We love you so!

Jimmy is a big cyclist and so it was very fitting to make a request for coordinating “cycling” shirts for the kiddos. L-O-V-E! Tobi’s hand stitched detailing is amazing!

Ada loves to jump on the bed. . .

. . .thankfully Everest does not mind when his sister jumps on the bed either :) PS: Our child is no longer this “tan” aka jaundiced. Though, I thought jaundice looked kinda good on him :)

This pic cracks me up too much not to include. Can we say NY Stock Exchange? Lawd, I hope not :)

My two favorite men taking an afternoon snooze

Babies have the best sleeping faces. They vary so frequently. I could stare at this little guy forever. {Yikes, I recently called Jimmy out on twitter for being creepy, after telling me one morning that he stared at me for 10 mins while I was sleeping….who’s the creepy one now? :}

Me creeping on the kiddo again. He is just too dang adorable!

random edit…I never play around with my post production…stay with the same thing…tried and true…except for this one.

Goodness I bundled him back in the day…ya know 7 weeks ago. He practically likes to sleep in the nude these days. The boy is having hot natured tendencies as of late.

So Everest really has two people that like to creep on him while he is sleeping. This creeper just happens to be extremely cute.

Cute old man? yes, please.

Ada, you are the best big sister ever to the best little brother ever! I love you two to absolute pieces!!!

Have an engagement session tomorrow….so the next post will not consist of gushing over the kiddos :) Night.

So this is our inaugural video post.

Never posted one on here and who knows if I will ever post another :)

We have played this minute and a half clip over and over and over again and each time it ignites a chuckle or even a roar of laughter. There is nothing like the tone, inflection, expression and interpretation of a three year old meeting her little brother at home for the first time. Hope you enjoy this little piece of our personal lives.

Brief intro. It was our first evening at home since being discharged from the hospital after birthing our son, Everest. The little guy and I hung out at home while Jimmy went to get Ada from my parents. When she arrived home, we did not mention Everest at all. We left him asleep on the couch while we got Ada ready for bed. Business as usual. We put her in her pjs that we had previously told her she would wear the night Everest came home and then showed her the matching pjs he would wear. She is holding his matching pjs. Alright, let’s begin. . .

Me: Where is he? Will you help me find him?

Ada: Yeeeees

Me: Ok look for him. Where did he go?

Ada: Right there (points to my belly)

Me: He’s not there anymore. Where is he? Help me find him. Aaah! Did you find him?

Ada: Yes (giggling)

Me: What do you think?

Ada: (giggling) You make him?

Me: (laughing) yes

Ada: He come out in your belly?

Me: (laughing) I know. Isn’t that crazy?!?

Ada: Yes! He’s snorpin’?!?

Jimmy: He’s what?  and I are dying laughing. She meant sleeping/snoring)

Ada: His toes.

He’s sleeping?!?

He’s not crying?!?

Me: Oh my goodness she is hurting me. (referring to laughing while recovering from c-scetion)

You like him?

Ada: Yeah. He’s sleeping?!?

He’s not crying?!?

Jimmy & Me: Yeah

Ada: I want to put on his pjs

……………….

Ada: (carrying the boppy pillow up the stairs) This is too Tu-vee.

*okay, now go watch the video…it is way better when the 3 year old says it :)

PS: You are NOT allowed to judge my videography skills…they are naturally lacking compounded with newborn delirium.

PSS: It’s not all play around here now {okay, well, technically it is not all play}. I do have an engagement post coming. I put a little sneak peek on our new  Moncrief Photography Facebook Page {yep, have not even mentioned said page on here just yet}. It is dusty over there, but would love for you to stop by :)

Jackson was fifteen days old on the day I got to spend time with him, his mommy and daddy (Jessica and Jason). The brand new family of three live in Nashville, but were down visiting family for Christmas which gave way to the perfect photography opportunity. We met up at Jessica’s parents beautiful home with so much wonderful light it was a photographer’s dream. I have known J&J for some time now. We all went to high school together. It is wild that we are all “growing up” at the same time with babies born in the same year. Jackson is one of the most laid back babies I have ever met. He is so sweet and cuddly and I just fell in love with his little squishy face. Don’t you just love a squishy newborn face? Ya know, when they lay their head down and their little cheeks just squish right up (pictured above :). Oh and his lips. It just isn’t fair for a boy to have such lips. They are just perfect and everyone is wondering if he will end up with Jessica’s thick long eyelashes. Either way, Jackson is absolutely adorable and a big sweetheart. Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys and taking care of me even when I locked my keys in my car. Yikes! Please enjoy your sneak peek!

Friday I had the opportunity to spend some additional time with sweet Josie Makayla at less than a week old. This time she was in the comfort of her new home. Josie was so alert and stayed awake almost the entire time and loved to be cuddled. She is a cutie and I am so thankful for the time with her and our sweet friends Robbie and Katie. Please enjoy your sneak peek. Katie and Robbie have started out the documentation of their daughter out perfectly. We did a preggo session, a hospital session and now a newborn session. The next will be when Josie is two months old (at the latest), then when she is sitting up, crawling, walking, and lastly her first birthday. I would be glad to start out the documentation of a child at any point. Let me know if you would like the same done in the life of your family.

P.S. This is another fabulous custom onesie by Tobi with Ivey Handcrafted. She is incredibly talented and as sweet as pie. Be sure to order one for the little ones in your life. No telling how many I have purchased this year. I love them and especially this one with the buttons to dot the i’s.

Josie Makayla made her sweet appearance into the world on Saturday November 30th. She was a bit past her due date so her mommy and daddy (our good friends Katie and Robbie) were more than ready to welcome their little girl into the world. I have had these images up on Facebook for a while and am now getting a chance tonight to share precious little Josie with even more of the internet world. I just had a chance to go to Josie’s home to document more of her first week in the world so stay tuned for more of this beautiful little girl to come :) I also had the priviledge to take pictures of Josie while she was still in her mommy’s belly. Click here to see those. This little girl is absolutely beautiful and I was floored to see how Katie was doing and how wonderful she looked. Josie was just a little over 24 hours old when we made it over to the hospital. She was absolutely precious. It was a bit past feeding time and she still stayed as sweet as can be. Love you guys and hope you love your sneak peak (even though you have already seen it :)
